Japan Tokyo International Machine Tool Show

The Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF), which began in 1962, is held every two years and has so far reached its 32nd edition. Alongside the International Manufacturing Technology (Machine Tools) Exhibition in Chicago (IMTS), the European International Machine Tool Exhibition (EMO), and the China International Machine Tool & Metalworking Tools Exhibition (CIMT), JIMTOF is recognized as one of the world’s four major machine tool exhibitions and enjoys an outstanding international reputation. At the 32nd Japan International Machine Tool Fair in Tokyo in 2024, the exhibition area covered 118,540 square meters, with 1,268 companies from 19 countries and regions participating—among them, 355 were overseas exhibitors. The total number of registered visitors reached 129,018, including 10,423 international visitors from 59 countries and regions. As the officially designated Tier-1 agent, our association will continue to organize domestic enterprises to participate in the 2026 Japan International Machine Tool Fair.
According to data released by the Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association, Japan's machine tool industry generated an output value of 1,051.8 billion yen in 2023. In 2023, Japan's machine tool imports totaled 85.5 billion yen, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.8%. Japan's machine tool import value has been growing for three consecutive years and has exceeded 80 billion yen for two consecutive years. Among these imports, those from China have remained the leading source for three consecutive years. The top three importing countries are China, Germany, and Thailand, respectively. By machine tool type, special processing equipment (such as laser processing machines and electrical discharge machining centers) accounted for 27.1%, lathes for 25.7%, grinding and finishing machines for 16.2%, and machining centers for 14.5%. Together, these four categories made up 83.5% of total imports.
