Istanbul International Construction and Engineering Machinery Exhibition, Turkey

The International Construction Machinery, Technology and Equipment Trade Fair of Turkey (KOMATEK), organized by SADA Trade Fair Company of Turkey and co-organized by the Turkish Association of Construction Equipment Distributors and Manufacturers (IMDER), was first held in 1991. Held every two years, the fair has successfully completed seventeen sessions to date. In 2024, the exhibition covered a net area of 43,300 square meters and attracted 298 exhibitors from 20 countries, including 148 international exhibitors. The event drew over 35,000 professional visitors. Well-known international brands such as Komatsu, Volvo, JCB, Hitachi, Grove, Doosan, as well as Chinese companies like Sany, Zoomlion, and XCMG, all made prominent appearances. In addition, numerous leading Turkish construction machinery manufacturers and distributors, including HIDROMEK, also participated in the fair.
Turkey is the world’s 11th-largest and Europe’s fourth-largest economy, boasting a unique geographical advantage that connects Europe and Asia and overlooks North Africa. As globalization continues to unfold, Turkey is playing an increasingly important role on the global stage. The growth rate of Turkey’s construction machinery market ranks third globally, trailing only China and India, with an average growth rate of 14.5% over the past decade.
In recent years, China’s exports of construction machinery products to Turkey have experienced relatively rapid growth. According to data from the Turkish Association of Construction Equipment Distributors and Manufacturers, Turkey’s sales of construction machinery increased by more than 20% in both 2022 and 2023. In 2024, sales reached a new all-time high of 14,767 units, representing a 15% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, thanks to its geographically advantageous location—connecting Europe and Asia and serving as a gateway to North Africa—and its favorable trade conditions, Turkey has continued to expand its production and export scale of construction machinery. Its annual export value has exceeded 2 billion U.S. dollars, making Turkey the largest producer and export base for construction machinery in the Middle East region.
