Brazil International Mining Machinery Exhibition

The International Mining Exhibition of Brazil (EXPOSIBRAM), organized by the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM), is one of the largest mining exhibitions in Latin America. Held every two years in Belo Horizonte, EXPOSIBRAM draws mining professionals, industry companies, and institutions from around the world. The 2026 edition of the exhibition will once again take place in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
The 2024 exhibition reached a record-breaking scale, attracting over 70,000 professional visitors and covering an exhibition area of 32,000 square meters. More than 450 exhibitors from countries including Brazil, China, the United States, Germany, Canada, and Australia participated in the event. These figures not only reflect the potential of Brazil’s mining industry but also highlight the exhibition’s crucial role in fostering industry exchange and cooperation.
Brazil is one of the world’s most important countries in terms of mineral resources. Its mining sector, centered on iron ore, copper, gold, bauxite, and other minerals, occupies a pivotal position in global supply chains. Brazil is the world’s second-largest producer of iron ore, trailing only Australia. In recent years, its total mining revenue has continued to grow, with iron ore accounting for roughly 60 percent of the industry’s revenue. The state of Minas Gerais, the country’s primary mining region, contributes about 40 percent of Brazil’s national mining revenue. Brazil boasts abundant copper resources, with proven reserves ranking among the highest globally. At the same time, Brazil’s gold production has been steadily increasing, and lithium mining is entering an accelerated phase; the first batch of “green lithium mines” has already begun exporting lithium for use in the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries. Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, is located in the heart of Brazil’s mining region, approximately 450 kilometers from Rio de Janeiro. The surrounding area is rich in mineral resources such as iron, gold, and manganese. The headquarters of Vale, the world’s largest iron ore company, was once situated here.
Under the leadership of iron ore, Brazil’s mining market continues to maintain robust growth and is actively expanding into new energy mineral sectors such as copper and lithium. Leading companies like Vale are continuously increasing their investment efforts—such as advancing major projects like “New Carajás”—which will further boost production capacity. Brazil’s mining market boasts enormous potential, and this exhibition will provide significant opportunities for relevant enterprises to tap into the Brazilian market.
