Hanover International Commercial Vehicles and Parts Exhibition, Germany

The IAA Transportation, the International Commercial Vehicle Show held in Hanover, Germany, is one of the world’s largest and most influential events in the commercial vehicle industry. Organized by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), the show was first held in Berlin in 1897 and has since successfully run for 68 sessions, becoming a benchmark event in the global commercial vehicle sector. In 2024, the exhibition covered a total area of 280,000 square meters, bringing together 1,700 exhibitors and attracting 278,900 professional visitors from 41 countries and regions. The Hanover Commercial Vehicle Show remains committed to showcasing the latest technologies and cutting-edge achievements in the international commercial vehicle industry.
The 2026 exhibition will center around the core theme of “Intelligent, Electric, and Eco-Friendly,” focusing on technological innovation and sustainable development in the commercial vehicle industry. By showcasing a diverse range of high-tech products and system solutions, the exhibition will comprehensively highlight the industry’s key progress in green transformation and intelligent upgrading. Key exhibits—such as hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, autonomous buses, and solid-state batteries—will form a synergistic display system encompassing “complete vehicles—technologies—components,” clearly illustrating the iterative path and development direction of global commercial vehicle technologies.
As one of Europe’s largest commercial vehicle markets, Germany is expected to see new vehicle registrations reach 390,000 units by 2025, representing an increase of approximately 4.8% year-on-year. Among these, light commercial vehicles will account for over 60%, totaling around 240,000 units; medium- and heavy-duty trucks are projected to register 120,000 units, while passenger-carrying commercial vehicles will number about 30,000 units. Driven by both supportive policies and strong market demand, Germany’s sales of new-energy commercial vehicles are forecast to reach 62,000 units in 2025, accounting for nearly 16% of total sales. The growth of electric light commercial vehicles will be particularly prominent, with year-on-year increases exceeding 25%. The German government’s ongoing “Commercial Vehicle Electrification Subsidy Program (KsNI)” has significantly accelerated the electrification procurement process in sectors such as logistics, e-commerce, and postal services.
