The India International Cable & Wire, Pipe & Metallurgical Technology Exhibition is organized by the Düsseldorf Exhibition Group from Germany and is held every two years. Primarily targeting India, South Asia, and the Middle East, this exhibition serves as an important platform for regional economic cooperation. The exhibition has been successfully held for 10 sessions to date. In 2022, the exhibition covered an area of 23,000 square meters, attracted 398 participating companies, and drew 17,350 visitors. In 2024, the exhibition expanded to 38,000 square meters, drawing 532 participating companies and 21,086 visitors. The India International Welding and Cutting Exhibition is held concurrently at the same venue.
In 2025, India’s wire and cable market is projected to reach US$21.22 billion, with an expected annual compound growth rate of 9.14% over the next five years, reaching US$32 billion by 2030. Driven by the accelerating pace of electrification, ongoing robust infrastructure development, and rapid growth in sectors such as power transmission and distribution, real estate, and transportation, domestic demand for wire and cable products in India remains exceptionally strong. It is forecast that from fiscal year 2024 to fiscal year 2027, the Indian domestic wire and cable market will experience an annual compound growth rate of between 11% and 13%.
The Indian pipe and tube industry is crucial to the country’s economic development. Supported by robust growth in sectors such as construction, energy, and transportation, India has now become the world’s second-largest steel producer, providing strong backing for the prosperity of its domestic pipe and tube market. In the coming years, the Indian pipe and tube market is expected to continue growing at a compound annual growth rate of 6% to 8%. By 2027, the size of India’s domestic steel pipe market alone is projected to exceed 15 billion U.S. dollars.
By 2050, India’s steel demand is expected to reach 430 million tons, a growth driven primarily by major infrastructure projects and government initiatives such as “Make in India.” Under its National Steel Policy, India has set a target of achieving 300 million tons of steel production capacity by 2030. In addition, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and trade policies that support domestic producers provide strong safeguards for the development of the steel industry. The industrial expansion across various sectors, particularly the growth of the automotive industry, is further boosting metal consumption.
